Mr. Tukaram Panchal symbolizes awakening in a rural youth in the post independence period. He came out of totally adverse situation in agro based family. His life is a story of his upbringing with a missionary zeal. Right from his youth he has plunged into development movement in Marathwada and embraced socialist philosophy of Ram Manohar Lohia and to commemorate the same he has established his educational institute.

Tukaram Manoharrao Panchal, born on 5-5-1952, at Nimbala, Dist: Latur, had education at ZP high school, Nilanga, and had his college education at S.B College, Aurangabad and has developed vision of social work right from his college days under the umbrella of veteran freedom fighter Shri Govindas Shroff, and Shri Anant Bhalerao. He began his political career by participating in the movement of enhancement of scholarship for SC/ST and backward students in the year 1973.

He also actively participated in the regional development movement of Marathwada in the year 1974 and after Satyagriha he was imprisoned for 22 days. He has also worked as Trade Union leader ans was secretary of Marathwada Labor Union for more than 6 years. He was one of the few crusaders for resolving labor crisis in the Marathwada Agriculture University, Parbhani. Due to his satyagriha and active movement, he was successful in solving the problem. He was a strong supporter for increasing the intake capacity in the Engineering and medical seats for the Marathwada region.

Further he fought for the cause of resident doctors who were earlier treated as pure PG students, but due to his movement Government agreed to provide them Rs,400/- as stipend and that wast the begining of the financial support for the medical education. Mr. KamalKishore Kadam the MLA Maharashtra Samajwadi Congres had supported him for his cause.

Education has always remained a matter of serious concerned to him. He also fought for the development of various schemes for the benefit of Marathwada Agriculture University students in Parbhani and he was successful in getting various demands fulfilled. he first launched the idea of blood donation camps for students in SB college, which later on was very popular in the region.

He also worked as secretary of Marathwada Students Action Committee and later on also established Marathwada Shetkari Shetmajur Sanghathna for solving problems of agriculture labor. He also fought for getting fair prices for agriculture products. Through this organization he sucessfully demanded and fulfilled various schemes such as crop insurance, Bennar scheme . Further he also launched a movement for providing loans for educated unemployed. A strike was launched for providing stipened to ITI students in vidharbha and Marathwada and after strike of 54 days ythe issue was solved due to compromise by Mr. Sharad Pawar, the leader of opposition in the Marathwada Legislative Assembly.

He worked for Mill Majur Sabha, Mumbai, and Bombay labor Union in collaboration with senior labor union leaders like Mr. Prabhakar More, Mr. Bal Dandawate amd Mr. Sommanth Dubey. He organized a movement for eradication of injustice met to MArathwada teachers in the Maharashtre Institute of labor studies, Mumbai.

He further organized a huge Morcha after firing on agitating farmers at Pimpalgaon Baswant on the issue of Onion prices. In the protest of firing on farmers at Uran, Dist Raigad, he organized a unique Morcha, which turned into Gerao in the Mantralaya, amd he along with his collegues was also arrested. Further he fought againest the increase in the unjustified hike in fee structure and fulfilled the demands of students.

After this movement earn and learn scheme was launched in marathwada and students were given free accomodation facility. Further it was resolved that administrative work of the outstation students must be completed on the same day. He also worked as a secreatary general of Maharashtra Socialist Congress.

In the protest of atrocities an slum dwellers, he organized a Morcha and captured the residential promises of Mayor for which he was arrested and was sent to Aurther Jail for 15 days. In 1979 he organized Marathwada level Dalit Women and labors conference and a socialist party leader amd MP shri Madhu Limaye, the Janata party leader was the chief guest.

He also organized a movement in favor of railway broad guage for Marathwada and he also participated in the farmer's rally i.e Shetkari Dindi organized by Progressive Democratic Front. Further he also organized Morchas, and movements for implementation of Mandal Commission.

Thus he has infused a new spirit in the backward region of Marathwada by changing mindset of the people. He felt that education is the only way to come out of backwardness in a fastest manner. Now in the new millennium he has decided to devote his full life for the cause of education in general and technical agro based and media education in particular.
